I live in Odessa, Florida and am originally from Jacksonville, Florida, where I came to know the Lord at age 18. I am so thankful someone cared enough to share Jesus with me at a young age. This gave me the opportunity to live for the Lord and share in His abundance my whole adult life. My heart’s desire now is to see other young people give their lives to Him also.

My wife Willene and I were married at FBC-Jacksonville, and have been married for 27 years. We have lived in Ohio and Michigan, before returning to Florida in 1990.

Our two children (Michael – 24, and Jessica – 22) are also in Tampa where Michael attends Idlewild and Jessica attends Grace Family Church with Bob & Willene. Michael is a student at USF and Jessica is studying for a degree in nursing. I grew up playing sports, and still enjoy competing in basketball, tennis and golf.

I have been in the field of sales for most of my career, and have been a business owner for the last ten years.
It’s now time to take the life experiences the Lord has brought me through and invest into the lives of young people. I pray God’s anointing on the ministry of FCA and on the hands, feet, blood, sweat and the tears, as we all advance the cause of Christ.

Julius Matos ~ Area Representative

I was raised in a small town called Barceloneta, PR by my mother Julia Garcia and father Julio Matos. I was the youngest of five kids. My mother was a devoted Christian woman while my father was not. Growing up I had mixed signals on how to live a Godly life (good life) but regardless I chose to accept Jesus into my heart at the age of 12yrs old, most likely I did it out of fear of going to Hell than wanting a relationship with my savior. Playing sports was always big growing up and baseball was my 1st passion as a kid.

My family moved from PR to Wisconsin in 1989 when I was 14yrs old. All though I didn’t see it that way through Gods blessing I was able to play baseball in high school and was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to play it at a small Junior college where eventually I was drafted in the 1994 MLB amateur draft. While God was continually blessing my personal life I was neglecting and consequently regressing in my Christian walk. I became very rebellious and sin ruled my life. For 20 years I experienced success in playing and coaching baseball but lost any relationship that I had with my savior. Instead of being happy and enjoying the success the lord had blessed me with I was rather angry and unsatisfied that I didn’t received more. This life style ruled my life until my actions caused me to loose all I had gained in the world and that’s when I took a life altering, course correction change. I once again felt the Lords calling, the man I had become wasn’t who I wanted to be and God started working on me.

In 2012 I made the decision to answer Gods call and serve him however he needed me. My ministry started at a local High school as their head Baseball coach and later grew into a Christian based baseball academy in the area (JMBC Baseball). Last year we saw seven kids come to know Christ as their savior in our bible study programs. I have also seen the need for more Christian role models and more out reach programs at the high schools and local youth sport venues in the area so I started praying that God would open the door for me to help out more and expand this ministry. I joined pastor Chad at Faith Baptist in New Port Richey as a youth group leader in December 2013 and he introduced me to Bob Durham from FCA. I felt Gods call in my heart to join the FCA and since our lunch meeting I have been broken in prayer that God would allow me to go into full time ministry here in the local schools. Amen!!
