“The best one ever” is a quote from a long time supporter who said he had attended 25 of the 26 previous FCA bowl breakfasts in Tampa. That is lofty, but apparently accurate praise based on the comments made by numerous other people in the large crowd that attended the recent FCA Outback Bowl Breakfast. Paul Porter, the voice of the Lightning and the Magic, introduced Michigan State and Georgia head coaches, Mark Dantonio and Mark Richt who both did a wonderful job of sharing how their faith in Christ influences their coaching. The coaches introduced a player from each of their teams that also shared their powerful testimonies.
The keynote speaker for the event was former Seminole and Dolphin running back Sammie Smith who shared how his personal relationship with Jesus gave him the strength to overcome his time in prison on drug related charges. The morning was wrapped up by Ken Whitten, the pastor of Idlewild Baptist Church and a FCA National Board Member, who challenged everyone in attendance to make Jesus the Lord of their lives. A huge “thank you” to JHS Capital Holdings for sponsoring the event again this year and to everyone else who participated
